Complex Geometries

March 24th, 2009

I’m proud to say that I posted about Complex Geometries long(hello 2006!) before the popular blogs did and trendy webshops like La Garconne, Oak, and Creatures of Comfort started carrying the line.

I own several pieces and can say that they’re some of the most comfortable clothing I own. I think what impresses me most about the line though, is how consistent it’s been through the years. If you click on the link to the post I made in 2006, and compare it with the S/S 09 pieces below, you can not only immediately identify the clothes as being by the same designer, but some of the same shapes are still being used in the latest collection, and they still look fresh.

The clothes are casual, comfortable, and appealing to those who prefer their daily wardrobe to have a dash of the cerebral.

The F/W 09 collection is also up for browsing on the website.

Humanoid

March 26th, 2007

The twenty-six year old Dutch label, Humanoid, began as a design endeavour for Sandra Harmsen and Hans Boelens, and now the label has found some success beyond the Netherlands. What I love about the label is how simple and wearable and effortless each piece is. These are clothes for any age or shape. Oaknyc carries a few of their pieces.
