This week we introduce two brand new labels – one based out of Finland, and the other Beijing. Triple-Major mixes a healthy dose of humour with the everyday object. This is a collaborative project dreamed up by Ritchie (Chan – of Project White T-shirt), Sarah, and Steph that’s also the house label of the Beijing-based Triple Major shop. I’m currently pretty crazy about the punctuation jewelry! We have more really beautiful accessories designed by Sarah coming our way soon too -so be on the lookout for that announcement.
We got to meet Finnish designers Emilia and Hanna of R/H when we visited a trade show back in February. Their fantastic watercolour prints really caught our eyes, and they were super sweet in person. The A/W 11 collection is only their second collection since they began their label after stints at Zac Posen and Agency V. What I like most about their clothing is how relaxed, and wearable every piece is. I’m excited to watch them grow.

I’m so glad I recently revisited previously posted Project White T-Shirt, because I somehow missed this adorable interview of
Azumi and David, creators of A’N'D, by Ritchie Chan. They discuss how they designed a special cojoined t-shirt for their marriage, show off some of their super cool pieces (they wear their own stuff-hooray), and welcome Chan into their studio!
As you all know by now we’re big fans of Azumi and David and we carry their pieces at the shop. We’ve also received some fantastic things from their fall collection, that we can’t wait for you all to see. I can tell you from personal experience they’re wonderfully professional and friendly people and their products are very high quality and very wearable. Check out the video!
I first heard about the Triple Major organized charitable endeavour Project White T-shirt from a Welcome Hunters email, so I’m sure some of you readers have as well. Thirty-one designers were asked to rethink the classic white tee and create their own version to be auctioned off to benefit Designers Against Aids. Worthy cause aside, the project has resulted in some really interesting interpretations (Aside: everyone remember Slow and Steady Wins the Race did their own reinvention of the classic this year?).
My personal favourite is previously featured ANNTIAN’s horse tee adapted for human. Love that sense of humour! And what do you all think? Think my big spotted girl would look styling in an ANNTIAN horse tee? Hee hee! You can see the horse tee adapted for the non-equine below.
There are video interviews with almost all of the designers, but not all of the designs have been released yet, so be sure to check back with the site over the next few weeks. I recognized quite a few of the participating designers like Bruno Pieters, A’N'D’, Complex Geometries, c. neeon, Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair, Daniel Palillo, Pelican Avenue, and Kling by Kling
