I don’t have much to offer in the way of commentary on Vienna based design collective, House of the Very Island’s, so instead I’ll just express my appreciation for their skillful use of texture, print, and layering (click the image above to enlarge). The term, ‘modern vintage’ is what instantly came to mind when viewing the collections of label, Future Classics, even prior to reading the designer’s philosophy. Indeed, I spotted references to the 1940s, 1960s, 1920s, and the 1980s. Nothing feels contrived or forced, however, and the label has a very distinct, personal feel.
I’ve included photos of pieces from the S/S 08 collection and from the F/W 07 collection.
