The Perfect Editorial

August 8th, 2011

Frankly speaking, most editorials bore the you-know-what out of me, but I was pretty much floored when my friend Toyin sent me a link to these images of Jeneil Williams shot by Ben Toms. It strikes the perfect balance between a graphic, minimalist aesthetic with just enough texture in the clothing and accessories to keep it from looking too stripped down. Make sure to click on the images to see them larger. Thanks Toyin, these made my day!

VDC Boutique -The Locker Key

December 15th, 2010

Ok, yes pinterest blah, blah, blah, but I seriously have some awesome people I follow on there. A huge old thank ye to LB Palmer (check out her blog too!) for this mind-blowingly (yes I did add the ubiquitous ‘ly’ to the end of an adjective) good find. Charlotte of VDC Boutique: The Locker Key creates simple, unassuming but very stylish clothing that has me reconsidering a uniform. Click over because there’re loads of beautiful clothes to see

Mono clothing

January 13th, 2010

So you all know by now that I’ve transferred my allegiance from all black ensembles to all white ensembles (well, along with more colour and pattern of course-ha), so imagine my enthusiasm when I recently visited Mono clothing’s website. I’ve been following Mono for a bit, but never posted because there just weren’t enough images available on the site for a full post. Fortunately, the website has been recently updated and it’s clean and easy to browse, and includes the latest all-white flight collection. Swoon! There’s always a wonderful feeling of movement to all of the clothes and a just-right subtle use of texture. You can purchase pieces directly on the site or visit one of the listed stockists. Don’t forget to click the image to enlarge

RosenMunns

More likely than not, most of you have heard of RosenMunns at some point recently. Their star continues to rise as interest in their distinctive, humorous pieces (that seem to owe much to the influence of Maison Martin Margiela) grows. Their pieces are quirky and strange and often smile inducing. The great thing about the label is the anticipation for each new collection-you never know quite what they’ll come up with next. I’ve posted looks from their S/S 10 collection

Quick side note: Due to the holiday week, posting will be sporadic and most likely irregular.
