Seeing as I’m a sucker for texture, I had a bit of a heart-stop moment when I happened to wander across isobel and cleo’s etsy shop. It was one of those fortuitous discoveries-although it’s quite easy to come across fantastic stuff on etsy if you have a few hours to spend browsing, which is why I stay away most times because I get sucked into that black hole so easily! (Ah, etsy ♥ forever)
Anyways, creator, Charlotte Hess, makes beautiful pieces bursting with texture and movement and gorgeous, subtle colour. Everything is handmade and made-to-order. Looking at Hess’s Press section on her site, it would appear that she’s captured a lot of people’s attention and rightfully so. It will be quite fun to see what she comes up with next
We’ve had a pretty wet, cool summer this year so I’m loathe to part with summer right now, HOWEVER, me being a total lover of winter clothing (Crazy right? I love summer temps but the clothes- not so much) I have to admit I’m already developing a sweater shopping list in my head. I love sweaters and I live in them since I’m perpetually cold (I can’t think of one morning this summer where I haven’t had the heat on). My favourite sweater style is the cardigan because I find it so versatile. So below, I’ve started my list of sweater must-haves, well at least the silhouettes I’ll be on the hunt for this fall and winter!

Grandpa Style
Ok, this is the perfect, classic grandpa cardigan. A.P.C. calls it a coat, but it’s essentially a lined sweater, but this would go with everything-dresses, skirts, jeans, dress pants, etc. I would be living in this if it weren’t for the pricetag.

Versatile Layers
What I like about this cardigan is that it’s a little more formal, but still easy to work into more casual looks. I’d buy it in a large so it’s loose and more casual, but in a smaller size I could see this nicely layered over a tunic length top.

Cerebral warmth
This pullover is just plain cool. What of Maison Martin Margiela isn’t? Again, I could see this paired with most anything and the ‘tape’ embellishment adding just enough texture and interest.

Adaptable Length
Loving this long coat style. Again, this sweater would totally work with something formal or something casual. And think of the possibilities. You could cinch the waist with a beat-up brown leather belt, or some tassels picked up at the fabric store, or a corset belt, or even fasten it with your favourite brooch…

Graphic patterns and the art of origami inspired sisters Marie and Karen Potesta’s debut collection for their Micaela Greg knitwear label. You can purchase most of the pieces from their collection on their site, which is nice considering that the label is essentially brand new. I’m generally anti-leggings, but I do like their version of the ubiquitous trend
I don’t know much about Cooperative Designs, but I do know that my neutral loving self can’t help but be attracted to the knitwear label’s bold use of colour. I don’t think I could personally rock any of the looks, but the clothes are a lot of fun to look at.
I’ve posted pictures from the S/S 09 and A/W 09 collections. While I rolled my eyes over the played out 80s references in the A/W collection (designers: please stop referencing the 80s and 90s and do something original), there are several pieces I do really like.
