Find yourself wishing you could mix up your all-black, minimalist outfits, but don’t have the cojones to take the proverbial plunge? Brokenfab’s hand beaded necklaces, bracelets, and earrings make the baby steps toward more colour easy. Seriously now though, cool stuff
Aio Kotsuhiroi’s rings look like they’ve been ejected by a volcano or brought up by dwarves from Moria. Even more fascinating than their middle earth shapes is the fact that, aside from the obvious crystals and semi-precious stones, they’re mostly made up of human hair, laquered silk thread, and urushi lacquer. The website is a bit frustrating to navigate, but it’s worth taking a browse. Some of the pieces are available for purchase on not just a label’s webshop
Carly Margolis’ All for the Mountain jewelry pieces make me think of the 70s obsession with Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings books, and something that would have been worn by one of the characters in Jodorowsky’s The Holy Mountain. Given the images on the site, I’d suspect these certainly provided some of the inspiration for Margolis’ unique collection! Whether or not you’re feeling the mystical/fantastical vibe, the jewelry is very appealing and wearable. Her furniture is quite beautiful as well. You can purchase items directly from the site or find stockists under the ‘Info’ link under ‘Stores’

Speaking of simplicity, Erin Considine’s crochet and metal necklaces rework simple materials into delicate embellishments. Really stunning, unfussy pieces. I wish there was more information on her design philosophy and process, but I can settle with just admiring her pieces. Be sure to click through to her site to see the pieces worn and at a larger scale. Again, you can click the images here to view them larger
