It’s surprisingly been almost three years since I posted about Humanoid. Happily, since then, the label is more widely available and they’re still creating beautiful, slouchy clothing with loads of layering potential. I’ve posted looks from their A/W 09 collection, but I can’t wait to see what they have in store for this spring. As usual, click the image above to enlarge
Sisters Madelon Lanteri-Laura and Natalie Vodegel are Dutch, but their label Polder is quintessentially French. Both moved to Paris to study archeology and art history during their college years and thenworked for French designers following university.
The shapes are classic, the colours soft, and all of the pieces have such an effortlessly cool quality. The label has been around since 2000 and I recall stumbling across some of their pieces over the years, but it has managed to maintain a low profile, which I think fits the brand perfectly.

The twenty-six year old Dutch label, Humanoid, began as a design endeavour for Sandra Harmsen and Hans Boelens, and now the label has found some success beyond the Netherlands. What I love about the label is how simple and wearable and effortless each piece is. These are clothes for any age or shape. Oaknyc carries a few of their pieces.
