Miroike

Happy to have re-visited Berlin based Miroike’s (I’ve posted about them previously) site and discover that they now have an online shop and clothing. I quite like how they riff on their past collections with each season

Reality Studio

December 1st, 2010

I finally got around to re-visiting personal favourite, Reality Studio. I sort of spaced looking at the A/W 2010 collection but I find their latest collection ‘Open to the Public’ more appealing anyway. The characteristic slouchy, relaxed sensibility remains, but it’s punched up with a cohesive earth tone colour palette and models who looked relaxed and well, normal!

Vladimir Karaleev

August 30th, 2010

I’ve featured Vladimir Karaleev previously, but since then he’s designed two more collections and there are interviews and video of his shows now available. Courtesy of all of this new information on the designer, I’ve learned that he’s colourblind! Of course, when your concentration is mostly focused on draping and layering, colour tends to play second chair as is. He can see the colour blue, which is what initially attracted me to his clothing, and can be seen making another appearance in his Fall 10/11 collection. Anyway, each collection brings a refinement of his basic aesthetic principles and I’m looking forward to seeing more of it in the future.

I’ve posted pictures from the Fall 10/11 collection, but check out the video below to see a preview of Spring 2011

Vladimir Karaleev

Cerulean perfection from Berlin based designer, Vladimir Karaleev. Masterful draping makes him one to watch. And I lied, blue is really, really growing on me (and as per usual, click the image above to enlarge)

Hui-Hui

Hooray! Colour, print, interesting silhouettes! I have to admit I’ve been feeling a bit down lately given the popularity of black and greys and their overwhelming ubiquity. Too much of a good thing is too much! Winter is grey and boring enough as it is and I look to fashion to help me mentally survive the dark, cold, and dreary months. A parade of colours that mimic the weather is not helpful! So I was much relieved to stumble upon Berlin based Hui-hui who offer some beautiful and creative silhouettes popping with prints and colour. I’ve posted looks from both the Summer 2010 and Winter 09/10 collections. Be sure to click the images below to enlarge
