While browsing through Sylvie Markovina’s site the other day, I came across fellow Australian Kirrily Johnston whose online shop carries some of Markovina’s pieces along with her own line. (You can see Markovina’s pieces paired with Johnston’s clothing.)
Anyways, while there is nothing revolutionary here, I’m drawn to Johnston’s draping and neutrals mixed with pops of colour. Her pieces are wearable and relaxed.
I’ve posted pieces from her A/W 09, S/S 08/09, and A/W 08 collections.

Australian label, Life with Bird, is the result of the collaborative genius of designers Nicholas Van Messner and Bridget McCall.
Gritting your teeth through the poorly implemented flash on their site is worth it to view their comfy, casual pieces. Their clothing is subtle enough to make every piece a wardrobe staple, but unconventional enough to give a simple outfit an edge.
I’ve posted photos from the A/W 08 and A/W 09 collections. They do menswear as well.

Solution to the winter blues: cheery, playful pieces from new Australian line, This is Genevieve. Australian fashion always seems to be generally characterized by an airy, casual feel that just feels right in the dead of winter.
Pieces featured below are from the designer’s S/S 08 collection. So far, I haven’t been able to find any US retaliers that carry the line, or any Australian online shops that will ship internationally.

Australian line, Willow encompasses everything I love to see in contemporary fashion: beautiful draping, wearability without the sacrifice of singularity, a subtle colour palette, and intelligence.
Surprisingly, at least here in North America, the label has flown under the radar for several years.
I’ve included photos of pieces from the July/August 07 collection and from the February/March 08 collection. You will recognize one of the dresses from the previous post.
