Yes, I’m still mooning over the perfect combination of neutrals and texture for the upcoming summer. The Opening Ceremony sweater (not really a sweater, more like a hole-y top-ha) about knocked me over when it was added to Anica’s new arrivals this week. And I love the felt necklace from Pour Porter shop over top-they’re a weirdly perfect combo. Sigh, can I just wear a multitude of variations on white this summer? Anyways, I’m feeling re-energized by the changing season and actually felt inspired to do another cut-and-paste wardrobe again-hope you enjoy!
I know I’m not the only one right now longing for spring and the seasonal shedding of winter layers. Not that spring doesn’t have its cold spells and rain, but it just means you’re one step closer to the warm months. I don’t really do dresses in the winter because I get cold pretty easily, so spring also means busting out the neglected part of my wardrobe. I have the Latourell poncho in khaki and it’s one of my main spring staples. It’s immensely versatile and actually helps ward off chills. I’d unbutton a few buttons on the dress and roll the sleeves and throw on a brass coin necklace that seems to be a wardrobe necessity these days. And of course, if I get a little too chilly, I’d throw on a pair of pale grey tights-or white, because you all know how much I’m loving all white right now!
It’s almost New Year’s Eve. Usually, if you’re going out that night, you think sparkly dress, bare legs, and heels. This year, seeing as we’re beginning a new decade, I propose something a bit different yet still appropriately festive AND comfortable. Definitely cannot forget comfort on a night when you’ll likely be imbibing too many alcoholic substances and be in close quarters with loads of equally inebriated strangers. Of course, if you’re into the meat market scene this most likely won’t appeal!
But this outfit is something I’d love to wear on such a night as New Year’s Eve with the pants rolled a bit, a tank for those overheated interiors, and a lighter weight maxi coat for when you have to brave the cold in between stops.
I’ve got an early vet appointment tomorrow, so it’s unlikely I’ll be able to post, but I want to wish all of you who read Pour Porter a happy 2010 with best wishes for a very good upcoming year! Thanks for reading!
Alas, I’ve returned to my beloved neutrals, although there is a digital print thrown in courtesy the Pelican Avenue top. I’m mostly indifferent to the combat boots trend, but particularly like Acne’s flat version. I think I’d throw a chunky cream scarf over top all of this, too. Have a great weekend all!
