Pour Porter (“Pour Por-tay”) was born out of a personal desire to discover unknown designers and inspiring online boutiques. I’ve excitedly watched the options expand with each passing year. Pour Porter was a way for me to collect my favourites and share them with anyone else who might be interested.

The blog originally began as a closed community on Livejournal in April 2005 with contributions from my husband and a friend. I felt the need to expand beyond the confines of Livejournal in order to reach a larger audience and allow me more flexibility, and so pourporter.com was born.

I hope Pour Porter can provide inspiration to those who happen upon it, and some exposure to the independent designers I feature. There is so much creativity out there that needs to be shared. The weblog has become an incredible way to spread the proverbial good word. I hope you enjoy!
