Weneversleep

June 27th, 2012

I haven’t had long hair in 15 years, and I haven’t had much desire to have it since then. That is until I came across Sarah Beaver’s delicate flora inspired ponytail holders and barrettes for her accessories line, Weneversleep. (Beautifully photographed by Dustin Fenstermacher.) They’re constructed of precious and semi-precious materials (keishi pearl and coral) and deadstock hair accessories. Let’s just say these completely blow my mind. Beaver is also offering a small selection of deadstock silk bras with handpainted silk dye patterns, also botanically influenced.

Very excited to announce the arrival of a new-to-the-shop designer today, Ilana Kohn. Oui Pop-Up & Peter Shire

June 15th, 2012

Hopefully some of you caught Angela’s Oui Pop-Up shop in OKC a few weeks ago, and if not she’s brought it online for a limited time, too. GET THEE TO IT!

Angela selected some pretty awesome things for her temporary shop, and I fell hard for the Peter Shire splatter mugs. Image below is one I took of it yesterday fresh out of its packaging! I love me a good mug.

Peter Shire is an Echo Park California based artist who was associated with the Memphis Group in the 1980s and whose work runs the gamut from sculpture to furniture. He’s also well known for his ceramic sculptures and vessels. I did a little poking around on the internetz to find out more, and enjoyed this short film on Shire by Eric Minh Swenson. Enjoy!

Pour Porter Shop: S/S 12 Lookbook & Kora New Arrivals

June 11th, 2012

Well we managed to do it. The Spring/Summer 2012 lookbook is now live. We went low key this time – no model just a relaxed assemblage of many of the SS 12 clothing and accessories against an agate background. I’ve got something a bit more ambitious planned for the fall, so this was a nice change of pace. I hope everyone enjoys it!

In other shop news, we’ve brand new Kora pieces up. I really love this line, and apparently a lot of you did too because it sold out quickly! Happy Monday
