American sportswear is so ubiquitous in the States that it’s hard to separate the vanilla connotations from the clothing, let alone make it appealing or progressive. In the case of NYC based Johanna Bloomfield, she deftly avoids the pitfalls with her Johannes Faktotum menswear line. Her pieces have a much-needed sophisticated appeal. A/W 2010 channels varsity jackets, preppy school sweaters, and football gear.
