Humanoid

January 8th, 2010

It’s surprisingly been almost three years since I posted about Humanoid. Happily, since then, the label is more widely available and they’re still creating beautiful, slouchy clothing with loads of layering potential. I’ve posted looks from their A/W 09 collection, but I can’t wait to see what they have in store for this spring. As usual, click the image above to enlarge

Blog Note: Shop Announcement!

January 6th, 2010

coming_soon

Well, everyone I can say this has been hard to keep under my hat for the past several months. But now that we’re finally getting closer to launch, I think it’s the right time to tell you all that we’ve gone and decided to open up our very own shop!
This has been something I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time, and with the new decade and the place I am in my life at the moment, this just seemed to be the perfect time to finally do it. Never fear though, I’ll still be featuring designers and web shops I like on the blog! There’s just too much exciting stuff out there to not continue posting about it all.

You’ll be seeing some familiar names and some brand new ones in the shop and we’ll be trying our hardest to keep things fresh and constantly updated. You can bookmark the shop now by going here or wait for the launch announcement and the new ‘Shop’ link that will appear in the upper right corner of the blog. I’m very excited about what lies up ahead and what we’ll be offering! Happy 2010!

Sunshine & Shadow

January 5th, 2010

You’d really have to be living under a rock to not have heard of Sunshine and Shadow yet, and most particularly because their latest collection (S/S/ 2010) has essentially been posted everywhere. This is totally understandable given how visually appealing and colour rich the collection is-that’s why I posted it at least! The label always delivers with soft, comfortable, and very wearable pieces so it’s no wonder that their popularity is growing

Vilsbøl de Arce

So I’m putting aside my usual complaint about the excessive proliferation of all black ensembles to feature Vilsbøl de Arce today. Yes, I’d like to see more colour BUT I’m loving the fascinating, architectural shapes the two women (Prisca Vilsbøl and Pia de Arce) behind the label have created and the wonderful play of textures present in their most recent A/W 09 collection. I’d love to see more of these shapes in something other than black, but for now there’s plenty to engage the eye! The images can be enlarged by clicking on them
