More likely than not, most of you have heard of RosenMunns at some point recently. Their star continues to rise as interest in their distinctive, humorous pieces (that seem to owe much to the influence of Maison Martin Margiela) grows. Their pieces are quirky and strange and often smile inducing. The great thing about the label is the anticipation for each new collection-you never know quite what they’ll come up with next. I’ve posted looks from their S/S 10 collection
Quick side note: Due to the holiday week, posting will be sporadic and most likely irregular.
Ok, so today I’m throwing a bone to all of you who still love to live in black (in this case this is mainly in reference to this label’s most recent collection)! I love the silhouettes of almost all of the pieces from the latest collaboration between Romanian Rozalb de Mura and Hungarian Olah Gyarfas, I just wish there was a smidge more colour. Although the F/W 07/08 collection plays with a lot of grey, white, blue, and a smattering of khaki. I’m not sure if the label is still around as the most recent collection on the site is F/W 08/09. I am loving their take on the ever present puffy down coat. Top row is F/W 07/08, bottom F/W 08/09
I’ve been a bit long-winded lately, so instead of commentary today, I’ll just let you enjoy the pictures and click the link to Painted Series to learn more! Four photos after the jump
I first heard about the Triple Major organized charitable endeavour Project White T-shirt from a Welcome Hunters email, so I’m sure some of you readers have as well. Thirty-one designers were asked to rethink the classic white tee and create their own version to be auctioned off to benefit Designers Against Aids. Worthy cause aside, the project has resulted in some really interesting interpretations (Aside: everyone remember Slow and Steady Wins the Race did their own reinvention of the classic this year?).
My personal favourite is previously featured ANNTIAN’s horse tee adapted for human. Love that sense of humour! And what do you all think? Think my big spotted girl would look styling in an ANNTIAN horse tee? Hee hee! You can see the horse tee adapted for the non-equine below.
There are video interviews with almost all of the designers, but not all of the designs have been released yet, so be sure to check back with the site over the next few weeks. I recognized quite a few of the participating designers like Bruno Pieters, A’N'D’, Complex Geometries, c. neeon, Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair, Daniel Palillo, Pelican Avenue, and Kling by Kling
Hooray! Colour, print, interesting silhouettes! I have to admit I’ve been feeling a bit down lately given the popularity of black and greys and their overwhelming ubiquity. Too much of a good thing is too much! Winter is grey and boring enough as it is and I look to fashion to help me mentally survive the dark, cold, and dreary months. A parade of colours that mimic the weather is not helpful! So I was much relieved to stumble upon Berlin based Hui-hui who offer some beautiful and creative silhouettes popping with prints and colour. I’ve posted looks from both the Summer 2010 and Winter 09/10 collections. Be sure to click the images below to enlarge
