Best Behavior

February 20th, 2009

I’ve been posting a lot of neutrals lately, so for today I’m posting pieces from Best Behavior with bright pops of colour. The clothes are drapey and relaxed, but it’s the use of colour that elevates these clothes from the typical minimalist fare.

Danish designers, Marie Ørberg and Malene Brøchner created the line in 2004 with the intent to create pieces, “…where the focus is simple colours, unusual cuts, cool details and above all – a good fit.”
Done, done, done, and done!

I posted an item from the line in this post on Cry Wolf. The items posted below are from the S/S 09 collection. Be sure to click the ‘read more’ link to see a couple more.

Reality Studio

February 19th, 2009

I am in serious love with German label, Reality Studio. The shapes, the cuts, the neutral colours, the fact that most pieces can be worn multiple ways, and the story behind each collection. Being a flora lover (and plant ecology being a large part of my job), I particularly liked that the S/S 09 collection centered around the plant world and specifically the leaf of Monstera. Of course, A/W 08 is my favourite.

Be sure to click the cut to see two more pieces from A/W 08

Modern Martyr

February 18th, 2009

Modern Martyr’s designer, Angela Wiedermann, takes pride in the fact that she’s self-taught and abandoned fashion school due to ideological differences. Wiedermann marches to the beat of her own drum and the results are rather interesting. She takes a very cerebral approach to her designs, with each collection exploring a concept that Wiedermann finds intriguing.

I’ve posted pieces from each of her four collections, but the Press 1 for Purgatory collection is my favourite.

Marjan Pejoski

February 17th, 2009

Marjan Pejoski owns a shop,Kokon To Zai, that features young, independent designers but he also has his own men’s and women’s clothing lines. In fact, Pejoski is probably best known for designing Bjork’s infamous swan dress. His line is full of complex layering and textures that are incredibly wearable.

Top two photos are from his S/S 09 collection and the bottom two from his A/W 08/09 collection.
