Because simple basics with quirky details always top my list for gotta haves, I was pretty pleased to have stumbled across Swedish company, Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair. I love the label’s sense of humour! Check the site for U.S. stockists.

I’ve really been on an accessories kick for some time now, haven’t I? Well, anyways I’m a firm believer in freshening up a wardrobe with accessories so here is another footwear post!
San Francisco shoe shop, Gimme Shoes specializes in footwear from the road less travelled (Yes, insert groans) They carry small, but nicely edited collections from Rachel Comey, Dries Van Noten, Coclico, Elsa, Jil Sander, and Sigerson Morrison, to name a few.

Blog Notes: I’ve been enjoying doing the daily wear and illustration posts, and I hope it’s been adding a little more interest to the blog for you readers. I’m going to be starting a little series of sketches of must have winter (and even just wardrobe!) essentials over the next week, and I’d love it if some of you would respond in the comments with your own lists of items you find to be essential to your seasonal or daily attire. They don’t have to be illustrations! Lists or even photos will do.
I moderate comments to prevent spambots, but I promise to not be so slow to check them this time. I think some interaction with you guys would be fun!
Also, the blog will be undergoing some minor aesthetic changes to freshen things up a bit over the next few weeks. It’s been almost a year since launch and I’d like to do something a little different!
I’ve been a fan of Mended Veil for some time. I love my starfish pendant. This blood drop pin really caught my eye. Wish I could have executed the wash better, but I’m too tired to re-do the whole thing!
I’m not really a fan of posting things I’ve seen on other blogs, but this designer was just too cool to pass up. So, thanks to coolhunting.
Barbara I Gongini likes to take a conceptual, experimental approach to fashion design, and believes firmly that fashion can encourage social change. The line also draws inspiration through cooperation and interaction with artists across the spectrum of artistic disciplines such as film, photography, and music.
The label is also firmly committed to sustainable business practices, which not only means producing a ‘green’ product, but adhering to a slower growth business model, as well.
Noble aspirations aside, I think the clothes are just really cool! Also, be sure to check out the quicktime video of the runway show-it feels more like an installation piece.
